New Audiovisual Installation responding to the Hastings Embroidery, made in 1966 by stitchers of the Royal School of Needlework. Open to the public May - October 2019 Commissioned and Produced by Bridgepoint Rye Concept, visuals Tim Hopkins Music and sounds composed by Robert Thomas Production sound design Danny Bright Light design Nicholas Holdridge This project sits at a crossroads of coincidences: the coming to light of this work marking a version of Britain’s past, a chance to show it again in a big space, and the immediate upheaval around Britain’s future. This large scale installation around the 240 foot Hastings Embroidery imagined the energy of this as it rushes past us on its way to being something else.
