Artificial intelligence and the study of consciousness
Artificial intelligence (AI), in its broadest sense, is any attempt to design and create artefacts that have mental properties, or exhibit characteristic aspects of systems that have such properties. Despite the name, such properties include not just intelligence, but also those having to do, e.g., with perception, action, emotion, creativity, and consciousness.
