The governance over "rating by bidding" in searching engines
Discusses the growth of illegal online sales of prescription drugs in China, and concerns over search engines directing consumers to unethical or unlawful websites. Examines the profit-based model used by the Baidu search engine, the factors fuelling the sale of such drugs, and the US responses to the problem. Considers why a multi-pronged approach is needed to change the approach of search engines, and what this might entail.
