The article focuses on the 10 Dignity in Care challenges set by the Department of Health in Great Britain in November 2006. The challenges have been designed to stimulate healthcare providers into action. It indicates the efforts of several health and social care providers in taking a dignity-related initiatives including comprehensive standards of care audits in intermediate care facilities. The referendum and survey of staff conducted by community health provider South Downs Health National Health Service (NHS) Trust (SDH) is also discussed.
