Corporate social responsibility in contemporary China
book
posted on 2023-06-08, 14:18 authored by Jingchen ZhaoChina's entrance onto a new stage of economic transformation and integration into the world economy has coincided with increasing pressure to reform its corporate laws, to encourage Chinese corporations to become more socially responsible, and to make corporate social responsibility (CSR) an increasingly integral part of business management strategy and practice in China. In this timely book, the theory of CSR and its practice in China are discussed, together with the legal responses to this emerging field. The book gives a detailed look at related provisions in Chinese Company Law 2006, one of the goals of which was to put social and environmental aspects onto the corporate agenda. Suggestions on how to enforce these laws more effectively and efficiently are also put forward, with some reference to UK law
