Riding comfort for passengers and road handling quality for drivers are main targets in the design of a vehicle. The active suspension system has a great performance for shock and vibration isolation. The problem itself is complicated, particularly when a full vehicle and nonlinearity are taken into account. Electromagnetic actuators are used to convert the shock and vibration energy generated from the rough road to useful electrical energy to reduce the consumption by the active control system
