Brighton Museum

A display of etchings by local artist Robert Charles Goff (1837-1922). The display was a rare opportunity to see about 50 works by the Hove-based etcher Goff who was one of the first etchers in Britain to be influenced by J.A.M. Whistler and the Etching Revival. On display were local views of Brighton, Hove and Sussex, as well as striking pictures from his travels in other parts of Britain, Italy, Egypt and Japan.
Guest curator Alexandra Loske introduces Robert Goff’s work and discusses his atmospheric etchings of Sussex and locations further afield.
