Abstract
In writing this review, I had to remind myself not to treat 'Packaging boyhood' as an academic book. Although it is written by academics—all three authors have Doctorates in Education—this is not an academic book written for academics. This book is the companion volume to ‘‘Packaging Girlhood’’ by Lamb and Brown. Both books have been marketed as guides to help parents and their children resist the limited and damaging gender stereotypes perpetuated by commercial media
