Notes
This is the first empirical social science article published on pharmacogenetics. As such, it is well-cited in the STS/medical sociology literature with references in journals such as Social Studies of Science, Science, Technology and Human Values, and Health Risk & Society. Its wider importance is indicated by the way in which it has been cited in the general scientific/medical literature, in journals such as: the Journal Of Clinical Epidemiology; Pharmaceutical Research; Nature Biotechnology; Current Pharmacogenomics; Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine; and The Pharmacogenomics Journal. Both authors contributed equally, bringing empirical data and theoretical ideas to its writing.Full text available
