Discusses the calls for the amendment of Council Regulation 1346/2000, the Insolvency Regulation. Explores the issues that would merit consideration if reforms are initiated, including priorities and public policy issues, the use of avoidance strategies, and the Regulation's potential extra-territorial application and conflict with other international instruments regulating cross-border insolvency, particularly the UNCITRAL Model Law on Cross Border Insolvency 1997.
