Strike: film score for ensemble
The development of this new score to Strike included working on a method to combine electronic sounds with acoustic sounds in order to register and interpret the film's use of dialectical visual montage, and its political message. Music for live ensemble and tape to a film by Eisenstein (Strike, 1924).

The submission consists of a score of the work published by University of York Music Press (ISNM M 57020 995 8). The following are supplied in a file of supplementary materials intended to support Dr. Ed Hughes's submission: 1. A DVD of the film with a recording of the score (released by Tartan Video). 2. Explanatory programme notes by the composer (included with the DVD box set). 3.
