Notes
This presents heat transfer measurements from the inner peripheral surface of a rotating test rig representing a gas turbine high pressure compressor internal air system. Tests were carried out at engine-representative operating conditions. The data are correlated by appropriate modification of existing correlations for free convection from a horizontal plate. This work was funded by the EU and a number of gas turbine manufacturers. It is of significant commercial importance, and has been accepted as a standard correlation in design codes.
