posted on 2023-06-08, 08:06 authored by Tim BaleGiven that many advanced democracies can claim to have moved into the era of valence rather than position politics, the study of leadership may well become a more explicit concern for political scientists across the world. If so, there is no reason why we should limit our case studies to the major powers: even smaller countries can help us understand something we all need and recognise, even if we find it hard to nail down.
