Additional Information:	Prof MacKerron was the lead author of a study commissioned, after competitive tender, by the Sustainable Development Commission as part of its wide-ranging 2006 study of nuclear power. The study¿s results have been widely quoted subsequently ¿ a recent and prominent example is that the UK government explicitly makes use of some of its findings in its May 2007 Energy White Paper (Chapter 5 section 5.5) and in its new nuclear consultation document.
