First live performance: 14 May 2005, The Engineerium, Hove. Additional live performances: Cheltenham Festival, Bath Film Festival, Jack Lyons Hall, University of York, Turner Sims Concert Hall, University of Southampton. Commercial recording: Tartan Video TVD3742/2. Score publisher: University of York Music Press. The submission consists of a score of the work published by University of York Music Press (ISMN M 57020 997 2). The following is supplied in a file of supplementary materials intended to support Dr. Ed Hughes's submission: 1. A DVD of the film with a recording of the score (released by Tartan Video). 2. Explanatory programme notes by the composer (included with the DVD box set). 3. A concert programme from the first performance of the score. The development of this new score to Battleship Potemkin was informed by close reading of Eisenstein's principles of audio-visual montage. This process is recorded in the programme notes to the concert performances and to the DVD set.
