Notes

Using a year long stream to carry out a design project that integrates a variety of engineering disciplines. Originality: Evaluating a new teaching scheme to motivate academic study on one hand and to teach design method on the other Rigour: Formal comparisons were not possible with alternatives. However, identified conflicts between group work objectives and indivual learning. Signification: A study of an alternative approach in a general area where apprenticeship methods have to be relaced that have been lost in current teaching regimes. Contributes to case study literature for design education research. Outlet: Respected new conference series.
