Notes
Coare was invited by the Institute of Employment Studies to contribute to this Systematic Review specifically because of her expertise in the area of adult learning. This Systematic Review was commissioned by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) to be used to inform future Government policy. Coare was involved in the design of the project, in identifying the research included within the review, undertaking the quality assessment of the material and the data extraction. In addition Coare co-wrote the final report that was presented to the DWP. In relation to impact on policy, the Freud report, March 2007, that addressed the issue of reducing dependency on benefit quotes the review as a reference: 'The combination of labour market contact, work experience and in-work training has been found to be most effective for people with low skills.'Full text available
