Geometric measure theory: selected concepts, results and problems
One of the main themes of geometric measure theory is the detailed study of geometric properties of general sets and Borel measures in Rn. The first decades after Carathéodory's fundamental paper in 1914 were spent studying how subsets of Rn behave with respect to m-dimensional measures, mainly Hausdorff-like. Geometric measure theory originates in the pioneering work done by Besicovitch on the structure of the subsets of the plane having finite one-dimensional Hausdorff measure.
