Additional Information: | This monograph, commissioned by the ESRC funded SKOPE research centre, is based on Eraut's recent TLRP project and ongoing theoretical thinking and Hirsh's consultancy work and close knowledge of career development and innovative HR practices. Eraut was the first author and wrote about 70% of the first draft. The work was reviewed within SKOPE and presented to a seminar of academics and senior representatives of companies and public sector organisations in Oxford. The monograph is the first research based publication to link learning by individuals, learning by groups and learning by organisations into a single theoretical framework; and it includes critical reviews on knowledge management, assumptions about tacit knowledge and sharing knowledge, and `learning organisations'. Feedback suggests that the theoretical framework helps readers to understand the practical implications of the research; and it is enormously helpful in disseminating the findings of the TLRP project. |
