Abstract

Bis{guanidine} H2C{hpp}2[hppH = 1,3,4,6,7,8-hexahydro-2H-pyrimido[1,2-a]pyrimidine] reacts with PPhCl2 to generate the dionio-substituted phosphane, [H2C{hpp}2PPh]2+[Cl]2 which, despite the formally dicationic phosphorus centre, forms an unprecedented coordination compound with platinum.
