Abstract

This essay considers the ways in which the form of a play might affect its poltical function in the theatre. The plays considered are Death Valley Junction by Albert Ostermaier, Heilige Kühe by Oliver Czeslik; and the Prater Trilogie by Rene Pollesch. The essay sketches the formal qualities one may associate with a post-Brechtian political theatre.
