Abstract
This essay investigates the performative possibilities of three German-language plays which may be considered 'postdramatic' (Jeff Koons by Rainald Goetz; The Making of. B Movie by Albert Ostermaier; and der mund ist aufgegangen by Ginka Steinwachs). The essay argues that postdramatic texts demand a very different treatment in the theatre from their dramatic counterparts in that the category of 'interpretation' requires reassessment.
