Notes
The paper provides a body of descriptive material from extensive cross-country comparisons to reveal the diversity of evaluation objectives and strategies. The paper goes on to set out a critique of uni-dimensional performance-oriented evaluations like the UK¿s RAE, and argues in favour of hybrid systems. Clearly the impact of the paper on the current RAE has been marginal though an influence upon longer-term change.Full text available
