Abstract

A biphenyl library incorporating amide and sulfonamide groups has been synthesised via microwave -mediated Suzukie-Miyaura couplings. Many derivatives were crystallised from dichloromethane/methanol and analysed by single crystal X-ray diffraction. An interesting structure was obtained for N-(40-methylbiphenyl-4-yl)acetamide with Z0¼6 and hydrogen-bonding networks of the type NeH.O in the
unit cell.
