Additional Information: This study demonstrates the role of IFNy in enterocyte resistance to C.parvum infection acting through JAK/STAT signalling and alteration of intracellular Fe. This may explain in part the variable susceptibility to infection in humans. Pollok was my PhD student. I was involved in all stages of the study.
