Abstract

A rapid and effective method for solving Orr-Sommerfeld equation′s neutral stability curve is presented. By mesh self adaptability, wave number a 0 and wave velocity c r0 are automatically found. With a 0,c r0, the relation curve of Reynolds number Re, wave number a and the relation curve of Reynolds number Re, wave velocity c are made by using a cubic spline function, which avoided to manually estimate a,c r of every point on the neutral curve and is followed by iteration refine. From the calculation results, the rapidity and the effectiveness of the new method are obvious.
