Additional Information: | The emergence of `Triple Helix¿ notions of interactions between universities, government and industry has brought with it a need for corroborative metrics, to which patent data alone ¿ however cleverly utilised ¿ cannot fully do justice. This paper shows how surveys aligned to patent data can provide better answers. Dr Meyer was the main author; his co-authors provided a considerable level of research assistance. |
