Le Riche was the lead researcher and co-author (with Hughes) for this unusually extensive study where the data-set includes 1375 cases of older people assessed by a multi-disciplinary panel for long-term care. The study, over a 4 year period, reports findings from a quantitative analysis of secondary data and in-depth qualitative interviews. Findings were disseminated to researchers, practitioners and managers through the interdisciplinary World Congress of the International Association of Gerontology, Vancouver 2001 and at the British Society of Gerontology Conference, Stirling, 2001, where they were published in peer-refereed conference proceedings.
