Abstract

Based on two corpora of undergraduate English and Italian seminars, this study concentrates on the questions asked by tutors, whic provide information on the planes of pedagogy and interactional control. A functional classification of questions is proposed. An intercultural reflection on the two academic contexts is invited based on the different discourse practices of tutors in England and Italy
