Additional Information: A novel fast 2-D read-out system developed for Micro-Channel Plates enables 256 parallel channels to be measured within a single FPGA. The technique has applications to the space, nuclear, security, and medical fields. This technique lies at the heart of the University of Sussex CORES instrument, part of the Obstanovka Experiment Complex to be attached to the International Space Station in 2008. Obstanovka (=Environment) is a Russian/ Ukranian project with invited participation from the UK, Poland, Hungary, Bulgaria, and Sweden.
