Abstract

The agricultural sector in Sudan plays an important role in the Sudanese econ-omy. Its productivity and efficiency are central to any program of economic recovery. Sorghum is an important cereal crop and it is produced in many parts of the world. Sudan is self-sufficient, in the sense that it is an exporter. Sorgum is used as food for hu-man consumption as well as for animal food. It is a primary staple food in rural areas.
