Naming same-sex desire in Caribbean women's texts: towards a creolizing Hermeneutics
journal contribution
posted on 2023-06-07, 23:34 authored by Denise Decaires NarainThis article considers the comparative merits of ‘queer’ and ‘creolization’ reading models in relation to representations of desire between women in selected Caribbean texts. It argues for a creolizing hermeneutics as a more enabling interpretive model and offers readings of texts by Allfrey, Kincaid and Kempadoo to demonstrate these possibilities.
