Janiform Novels

journal contribution
posted on 2023-06-07, 23:08 authored by Cedric Watts
This essay expounded my theory of literary janiformity, which opposed the orthodox theory that a good work of literature should be "an organic whole". A janiform text (like the god Janus, who looks in opposite directions at the same time) is radically paradoxical or even self-contradictory.
