Notes
As part of the biological imaging for breast cancer detection it was necessary to improve response speeds of red sensitive photon imaging tubes by more than 100 times. This paper reports on one novel solution to the problem and our success has stimulated several improvements in tube manufacture, together with a related proprietary photocathode metallization procedure which is now being implemented. The work is proceeding at Photek Ltd with co-authors on this paper (Howorth, Milnes and Brooks).Full text available
