Abstract

The reaction of nickel atoms with t BuCP affords a mixture of the isomeric complexes [Ni(¿3PC2 But2)(¿5-P3 C2tBu2)] and [Ni(¿4-P2C2 But2)2]. The former complex has been structurally characterised in the solid sate as its [W(CO)5] adduct, which in solution undergoes fluxional behaviour.
